What to Expect
We know that visiting the dentist can be intimidating for many people. At Gammello Dentistry, we take special care to ensure that you have a pleasant office visit. Here is what you can expect.
You will be greeted with a smile!
Our Office Manager, Donna, will warmly welcome you to our office. You may be asked to complete some paperwork, including your health history, unless you have pre-registered online through our site.
While you are waiting, you can enjoy a news program on the television, choose to read from a selection of current magazines, or simply enjoy the beautiful antique furnishings in the office. There are also toys available for small children.
Imaging
Gammello Dentistry utilizes state-of-the-art digital radiography, which significantly reduces a patient’s exposure to radiation. The patient can then view the images on a computer screen and discuss them with Dr. Gammello or a hygienist.
One of our expert hygienists, Breena, Heather, Lisa or Lil, will come to the waiting room to meet you when it’s time to start your appointment. If you need imaging, you may have panoramic and bite wing x-rays taken as preparation for your consultation with Dr. Gammello.
Hygiene
Your appointment will begin with a routine cleaning. Our experienced hygienists take special care to be gentle with all patients, from young children to elderly adults.
Your hygiene appointment ends with a polishing that will make your teeth feel sparkling clean!
Consult with Dr. Gammello
After your cleaning, the hygienist will call for Dr. Gammello. You can always expect to be greeted with a big smile, and more times than not, with a joke. Dr. Gammello is known for being extremely personable and approachable, which is very comforting to our patients.
Dr. Gammello will review your medical health information and complete an oral examination. If there are any findings, he will discuss them, along with your options. We have a commitment to empowering our patients to make the best dental health decisions by providing all of the options and information!
If your exam indicates the need for additional evaluation or treatment, you will be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment. At the conclusion of the appointment, you will receive a 'goodie' bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste. You should leave the office feeling well-informed with no unanswered questions.
Follow-Up Appointment
If you are having work done, Dr. Gammello and Shirley will keep you informed throughout the appointment. With 30 years of experience as a dentist/assistant duo, they will always let you know what to expect, and will ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
While Dr. Gammello can handle a variety of your general and cosmetic dentistry needs, some procedures will be referred to specialists. If your care requires a referral, Dr. Gammello and his staff will provide you with specialist options and will help set up your appointment.
